Inspired by Central Park-a New Limited Edition Scarf by Snag Rodarte

The Mulleavy sisters, Kate and Laura may be based in Los Angeles, but the sister duo behind hot indie label Rodarte is showing some love for New York.

They have just released a limited-edition series of scarves designed especially for the Mandarin Oriental, New York, one of our favorite hotels right on Central Park. The inaugural design debuted during New York Fashion Week, but if you're a scarf girl (or boy), mark your calendars: the second design in the series will be ready for launch during February 2016 Fashion Week.

The Rodarte duo was inspired by the property’s views of the Manhattan skyline and Central Park for the initial print. The black-and-white pattern mimics the deep-dark branches you see from the hotel lobby in winter, as well as the twisty-turny Murano glass installation in the hotel's Restaurant Asiate, appropriately named Central Park Trees. A stripe of purple is woven into the edges for a splash of color.

“New York; With our first scarf for Mandarin Oriental,  we wanted to create a wearable piece that blended our modern aesthetic with the feeling of excitement that we get each time we return to our favorite hotel in New York and peer out the window onto Central Park from our room for the first time,” says Rodarte’s Laura Mulleavy of the collaboration.

I Love NY t-shirts; forget them and buy a chic scarf instead a memento of your trip to NYC. Take it home along with Kate and Laura's first Mandarin Oriental, New York, collaboration: the Rodarte New York City Guide, a functional map of Manhattan depicting some of the Mulleavys' top spots for hanging out in NYC. The Rodarte New York City Guide is available (for free!) exclusively in the 42 restyled one- and two-bedroom suites of the property. Meanwhile, the scarf is yours for $350—talk about just in time for the holidays.

$700 Coffee-Table Book

Gisele Bündchen

Gisele Bündchen (Like Naomi Campbell before her) has announced that she is coming out with a Taschen tome devoted to her 20-year modeling career. (Unlike Naomi, she didn't promote it via a racy Instagram post.) According to a release from the publisher, the book will contain 300-plus photographs spanning her career, by talents like David LaChapelle, Juergen Teller, Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin, Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott, Corinne Day, and Irving Penn, who shot the nude portrait that adorns the cover. The supermodel has curated the book, which will also feature "tributes from Gisele’s closest friends, family, and fashion leaders," who remain unnamed. Unfortunately, your Gisele completism will set you back $700, but there's a silver lining — each of the 1,000 numbered copies will be signed by Bündchen. It's also a whopping 536 pages long, so perhaps best to invest in a sturdy coffee table to prop up all of those highly curated tributes.

APPLE WATCH HERMÈS – INTRODUCTION

Apple announced that it has collaborated with Hermès to create a collection of new Apple Watches, which brings together the worlds of luxury fashion and technology,.

Many would anticipate that the heritage leather brand may have merely lent its expertise to creating a new series of straps, Apple Watch Hermès is a truly collaborative line - each watch comes engraved with the Hermès signature, the typeface can be customised to Hermès's famous orange and three exclusive dials reference classic Hermès watch face designs. The straps play an integral role too; each of the three designs - the single tour, the double tour and the cuff - are handcrafted in Paris in the label's Barenia leather.

Pierre-Alexis Dumas, Hermès's executive vice president in charge of artistic direction, added, "At Hermès, we strive to provide our clients with elegant, creative and functional objects for their everyday lives. What more contemporary and relevant expression of this principle could there be than this collaboration with Apple. We are strongly united by the same deeply held ideas and principles. I see it as the establishment of an alliance in excellence; like horse and carriage, a perfect team."
Apple's chief design officer Jonathan Ive said "Apple and Hermès make very different products, but they reflect the deep appreciation of quality design”. "Both companies are motivated by a sincere pursuit of excellence and the desire to create something that is not compromised. Apple Watch Hermès is a true testament to that belief."

Ive addressed Apple's dedication to quality design when speaking at the  Condé Nast International Luxury Conference in April 2015. "At Apple we don't look at the world through predetermined market opportunities. What we've done fairly consistently is try to invest tremendous care in the development of our products," he told Suzy Menkes. "It's not so much about things being touched personally - there are many ways to craft something. It's easy to assume that just because you make something in small volumes, not using many tools, that there is integrity and care - that is a false assumption."

The collection of the watches will be available to buy from October 5 at select Apple retail stores, select Hermès stores, speciality stores and department stores beginning October 5.

The show Of Burberry Prorsum has long been a favorite among A-listers, and the English house regularly brings out the best of British talent in music, film, and fashion. Between Cara, Kate, Sienna, and Suki, this season’s front row featured two generations of cool.

Kate Moss led the charge in an animal-print coat with three-quarter sleeves and coordinating belt. Not to be outdone, Cara Delevingne switched up her tomboy uniform for a ladylike look: an open-weave skirt with coordinating booties and a feminine flared jacket.

Meanwhile, reformed bohemians Sienna Miller and Suki Waterhouse both cozied up in teddy bear–like fur jackets. Miller’s emerald version had an Old Hollywood vibe, while Waterhouse’s optic white topper provided a beautiful counterpoint to her ’70s-inspired blue frock.
